Market changes of plasticizers in Japan
in 2002, Japan's housing construction area and automobile production decreased, and the demand background for plasticizers is still not strong, so its market is still unable to get rid of the long-term downturn. According to the data provided by the Japan plasticizer Industry Association and the Ministry of economy and industry (Chemical Industry Statistics), in 2002, the output of plasticizers in Japan was 436150 tons, an increase of 3.5% over the previous year, and the consumption was 43452 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5%, which was smaller than that in 2001, in which exports increased by 39% and domestic demand decreased by 2% - 3%
according to the types, the most consumed varieties are phthalates, accounting for 87.9% of the total, followed by phosphates, accounting for 4.8%, followed by adipates, 4.7%, and epoxides, 2.6%. Among phthalates, DOP is the product with the largest consumption, accounting for 66.2% of phthalates, accounting for more than half of the total plasticizers, accounting for 58.2%, an increase of 1.4 percentage points over 2001, and firmly ranking first. The consumption of DBP was 5380 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 27.8%, which is another sharp decline after the decline in 2001. The demand for DBP fell due to the safety problems in its main application industries (coatings, adhesives). DINP demand once continued to grow, but the market in 2002 was only 970800 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.2%, which was the second year of continuous decline. DINP demand was 1076 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.9%, mainly used as wire and cable coating materials. The demand for other phthalate plasticizers is 15900 tons, which is the same as that of the previous year, with beautiful appearance. There is little change in recent years, and the demand is expected to remain relatively stable in the future
except for phthalates, the demand for phosphates increased significantly. In 2002, the total volume reached 20.97 million tons, an increase of 17.3% over the previous year. The overall fuel consumption of new water passenger vehicles (including new energy passenger vehicles) fell to 5 liters/100 km in 2000. Affected by the poor market mainly used for film, the total amount of adipate ester plasticizers was 20.17 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.5 percentage points. The demand for epoxy compounds was 131300 tons, a decrease of 31.7% over the previous year, and a considerable decline
Japan's plasticizer exports are mainly DOP, DINP and DIDP. The total export of phthalate esters is 716900 tons, an increase of 39.2% over 2001, of which about 90% are exported to China and Hong Kong. DOP exports 612400 tons, accounting for 85% of the export volume, with a year-on-year increase of 37.9%. DINP and DIDP exports were 6.45 million tons, an increase of 51.2% over the previous year. The significant increase in procurement volume in China and Hong Kong was an important factor
the initial strength is especially so. The in mold labeling technology has been introduced into China's plastic packaging market as early as more than 10 years ago
