"Three big steps" to promote the development of China's plastic industry

first, develop "high-end and sophisticated" products and create brand benefits

according to customs statistics, China imported 313900 tons of plastic products in 1999, with an amount of 896 million US dollars; In 2000, 296400 tons were imported, amounting to US $1.096 billion. In 2000, compared with the import of plastic products in 1999, the global market needed 345.02 million kilometers. Although the amount increased significantly, the number showed a negative growth of - 5.6%. Take another look at the export situation of plastic products in China: in 1999, the export was 2.8714 million tons, with an amount of 3.918 billion US dollars; In 2000, the export volume was 3.4655 million tons, amounting to US $4.894 billion. The export volume increased by 20.7% and the amount increased by 24.9%. This group of figures fully reflects the importance of developing "high-end and sophisticated" plastic products: only by working hard to develop high-tech products, in order to build this project product safely, excellently and efficiently and turn it into productivity, and at the same time, promote the establishment of the product brand image, so that the products produced are like "the emperor's daughter does not worry about marriage", can the enterprise's benefits be doubled. For example, colleges and universities have many mature scientific and technological products, but the promotion work is not smooth. In the future, industry associations should make more connections, convene colleges, universities, scientific research institutions and enterprises to communicate face-to-face, and hold exhibitions and transfer meetings of scientific and technological achievements, so as to contribute to the development of "high-tech and sophisticated" plastic products with high scientific and technological content for 34% of services

second, develop "short, flat and fast" products to meet the market requirements of plastic products

the data published by the International Plastics Association shows that China's output of synthetic resin increased by 6.1 million tons, 6.77 million tons and 8.42 million tons in 1997, 1998 and 1999 respectively, ranking fifth after the United States, Japan, Germany and South Korea, and has become a major producer of synthetic resin; In terms of national consumption, it was 15.15 million tons in 1998, 18.16 million tons in 1999 and 22.18 million tons in 2000, surpassing Germany, Japan, Italy and the United States; In terms of per capita consumption, China's per capita plastic consumption was 12.1 kg in 1998, 14 kg in 1999 and 17.52 kg in 2000, respectively. It is one of the countries with low per capita plastic consumption in the world, while countries and regions with high per capita consumption, such as the United States and Japan, can reach about 140 kg. Therefore, it will take a long time for China's per capita plastic consumption to catch up with the level of advanced countries and regions, But at the same time, it also brings great potential and business opportunities to the development of the plastic industry when China's constant temperature heating devices begin to work. It urges China's plastic production enterprises to develop and produce "short and fast" products that meet the usage habits of Chinese consumers as soon as possible. Only products closer to people's daily life can create higher profits

Third, speed up the transformation and upgrading of equipment, promote the application of new technologies, and improve competitiveness

in the 1980s, Nanjing's plastic industry was once prosperous, but after entering the 1990s, many plastic enterprises were in trouble due to obsolete equipment and single varieties. The most obvious example is the plastic products supporting the automobile industry. Because they did not form fist products, they soon lost in the fierce market competition. On the contrary, Jinling Petrochemical plastic factory has introduced advanced German equipment to produce plastic pallets, 200 liter plastic barrels and other products, but it has created good benefits. This shows the importance of equipment updating. It has been proved that in order to develop rapidly, we should not only speed up the renewal and transformation of equipment, but also pay attention to the application of mature new technologies, tap the potential of the enterprise itself, and achieve high performance, high efficiency, low cost and industrialization.
